The Day That Is Tomorrow

I’m currently on the city bus riding to a video game convention downtown. I’m not even sure that the convention will be open when I arrive. But I am sure that there’s neither rain nor snow outside. And that’s good. For today tomorrow is National Neither Rain Nor Snow Day.

The day is only tangentially related to weather. The namesake rather derives from an inscription at the New York Post Office. It reads:

Neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.

In my experience, this statement remains largely true: the United States Postal Service is one of the most stalwart operations to exist. I’m sure that during the fire and brimstone of the Four Horsemen’s appearance, the indefatigable women and men of the postal service will arrive with your mail in hand and mail intact.

And bus drivers are just as hearty. I’m back on the bus, riding home from the convention where I purchased two books on video games and a Pennywise burnt wood image. The bus driver handles this bumper to bumper web of traffic like a champ, gracefully weaving this metal behemoth through vehicles a third its size.

Anyway, the day’s namesake rang true: neither rain nor snow today.

But will it ring true tomorrow? Tune in and see!

Happy Neither Rain Nor Snow Day tomorrow!
