Lemon Juice Is Not for This Goose
I didn’t know the difference between lemon juice and lemonade until two minutes ago. The lemon juice mafia would be ashamed of me. But now I know and now I can celebrate: for today is National Lemon Juice Day.
If you’re like me and didn’t know the difference, here it is: lemon juice is the stuff extracted straight from the lemon, but add water and sugar to that lemon juice and you’ve got fresh lemonade.
In plain English, lemon juice is an ingredient of lemonade.
And this fact got me wondering: why do I like lemonade but not lemon juice? Is it because lemon juice is too tart by itself, and that life is too short for tartness? Or is it something deeper?
…
No.
…
It is not something deeper.
Lemon juice is as unappealing as motor oil.
Happy National Lemon Juice Day!
